St. Joseph Diner Transition

Dear Volunteer,

Thank you for being committed to the mission of Catholic Charities of Acadiana and for being the hands and feet of Jesus to our neighbors in need.

I wanted to provide an update to our volunteers regarding changes at St. Joseph Diner. Catholic Charities of Acadiana’s COVID-19 partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank at St Joseph Diner has concluded, and Catholic Charities of Acadiana is returning to its management of St. Joseph Diner’s kitchen.

The St. Joseph Diner kitchen is undergoing equipment modifications and construction as a part of this transition. Therefore, we are temporarily outsourcing the production of meals to a third-party vendor so that our daily meal service at St. Joseph Diner, within our Diner Mobile program, and throughout our regional distribution network can continue without disruption.

We will notify our volunteer network when the kitchen reopens, and we are once again able to welcome volunteers at St. Joseph Diner. We look forward to continuing to serve our neighbors experiencing hunger alongside our dedicated volunteers with a commitment to a positive service experience.

We ask that you consider volunteering and serving with us at FoodNet Food Bank, as you are able (click here for more information), until the St. Joseph Diner kitchen resumes operation.

Please know how grateful I am that you would journey with us as we seek to serve those who are suffering in our midst. I think of you often and remember each of you in my prayers, thanking God for your accompaniment and service to those He loves.

In service,
Kim Boudreaux
