Getting your school engaged with the work of Catholic Charities of Acadiana

You and your school can make a difference to those experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty in our community! Join in the work of Catholic Charities of Acadiana this year through a variety of ways.

School Engagement Options

There are many ways to support Catholic Charities of Acadiana and our neighbors that we serve:

  • Organize a donation drive. School-wide donation drives build your school community and help sustain our programs. Personalize the drive by choosing a specific program to support and/or items to collect! Please call us prior to your drive to learn about our current needs.

  • Collect monetary donations. Whether it's a jean day or a penny drive, every monetary donation helps us continue the critical work we undertake daily.

  • Volunteer as a group. Bring your students in small groups to volunteer! Bring your staff to volunteer! Encourage the families of your students to volunteer!

  • Lead your students to fulfill individually required service hours through volunteering in our programs.

  • Join us during Special Events, like the annual KLFY Food for Families Food Drive benefiting FoodNet Food Bank.

  • Engage your service clubs. If your school has a service club, we’d love for you to consider Catholic Charities of Acadiana as one of your avenues for leadership formation, service, or giving.

  • Invite us to present. We’d love to help you educate your students, staff, and larger school community through offering a talk, presentation, testimony, or teaching. We enjoy sharing about our work as a Catholic organization and can also present on a variety of topics under the larger umbrella of Catholic Social Doctrine.

  • Keep us in mind at key points in your school year: Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Catholic Schools Week, Homecoming Week, Prom, Graduation, etc.

  • Shop our social enterprise, Crossroads Collective - Purchase with a purpose! 100% of profits from your purchase at Crossroads Collective benefits Catholic Charities of Acadiana. Stop in to stock your classroom with supplies for celebrations, classroom treasure boxes, or incentives for achieving students!

  • Spread the word. The operation of our many programs depends on both monetary and in-kind donations as well as the engagement of donors in spreading the word. Thank you for sharing with others!

  • Encourage your school community to engage with us during vacation times!
