The Ultimate Food Fight! Crossroads Church Teams Up with CCA in the 111 Campaign

A peanut butter and jelly drive explodes into fun and hope for Catholic Charities of Acadiana and those we serve.

Joy-filled Robin Price, youth outreach pastor for Crossroads Church, recently led the charge rallying the church’s youth to go crazy collecting peanut butter & jelly for the hungry fed through FoodNet Food Bank, a program of Catholic Charities of Acadiana.

This is what Robin had to say about participating in the 111 Campaign:

At Crossroads, we are passionate about engaging with our community and partnering with local non-profits that are making a difference here.

When the opportunity came to participate in Catholic Charities of Acadiana’s 111 Campaign, we knew we could have a blast in the process! We decided to make it interesting with some friendly inter-departmental competition - our youth group versus the children’s ministry! It was so exciting to watch students and kids alike getting into the spirit of the ultimate “Food Fight,” competing to see who could bring in the most donations!

In the end, our youth department won, and to celebrate, our children’s pastor got a pie in the face. Our youth pastor will be allowing the students to wax his nose. All for a great cause!

Thank you so much, FoodNet Food Bank, for presenting our youth and kids with an opportunity to have fun while making a difference!”

To our friend Robin and the Crossroads Church youth and families, thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need in our community and having a heck of a lot of fun while doing it!

We love the big food drive ideas! Check out our 1/1/1 Campaign and see how your church, school, business, or family can be directly involved in fighting hunger.
