Louisianas Legislative Black Caucus serves with us

Catholic Charities of Acadiana was honored to present to leadership from the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus as they met for their annual policy retreat in Acadiana. State lawmakers from all across Louisiana heard from Catholic Charities of Acadiana’s leadership team regarding issues on poverty, housing, and food insecurity. Members engaged in robust discussion, offering support for the work that Catholic Charities of Acadiana does for those who suffer. The discussion was followed by an all member service opportunity at St. Joseph Diner. In the spirit of servant leadership, caucus members fulfilled all duties at St. Joseph Diner for the lunch shift, including serving meals, cleaning dishes, and preparing the facility for future guests.

Our role is both engaging in the corporal works of mercy, as well as advocating for changes that remove barriers to those who suffer. We are eternally grateful for those in leadership positions who offer time and heart to serve alongside us.
