The thought of someone you know not having a place to sleep at night is terrifying.
Our shelter is designed to sleep 48 people. As area shelters meet their capacity, we do our best to not turn anyone away. Forced to make space on the floor, we are currently operating above capacity.
Last night, 81 people needed a place to sleep.

Catholic Charities of Acadiana has served the specific needs of women for decades.
Sometimes those women are in an individual experience of homelessness and in need of emergency assistance. Sometimes those women are pregnant mothers, increasing the trauma of street-level homelessness. Sometimes those women are wives and mothers of several children seeking to maintain the stability they do have as the threat of loss looms. Every time, they are addressed with compassion and care in their situational crisis.
