Big changes in the Catholic Charities of Acadiana external affairs team!
We are excited to welcome two new members to the external and community affairs team, Kayla Stansbury and Julie Buller, and announce an exciting new role for Sarah Baquet!
Kayla Stansbury started in February as our new Director of Community Engagement. Kayla's work will be through the engagement of our supportive community, creating meaningful opportunities for our churches, schools, and businesses to serve the poor and support the work of Catholic Charities of Acadiana. Kayla is co-host of the popular "Can I Getta Amen" podcast, a local speaker, and a hug enthusiast. Her mission is always to leave people a little bit better than before she found them. Kayla hopes to do that by loving others the way Jesus loves her. Reach out to Kayla to discuss how your church, school, or business can have a meaningful impact on the lives of those who suffer through the programs of Catholic Charities of Acadiana.
Julie Buller serves as our new Donations Coordinator. She will work with our supportive community to build out drives for essential items for our programs, including food drives for St. Joseph Diner and FoodNet Food Bank and critical item drives for our shelters and homeless programs. Julie will also handle inventory management and be a point of contact for receiving in-kind donations from the community. Julie is an Acadiana native and a parishioner at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, where she serves as a member of the Advisory Council and various volunteer roles. She is a core team member for The Light Project. Julie has a long history of working with our community in lower socioeconomic schools and is thrilled to serve the community in this new role. Reach out to Julie with any questions about the needs of our programs, in-kind donations, or to schedule a food or item drive.
Since starting with Catholic Charities of Acadiana in 2019, Sarah Baquet has served in several key community relations roles. We are excited for Sarah to step into the Volunteer Experience Coordinator role, where she will work to fulfill volunteer needs in key programs such as St. Joseph Diner and FoodNet Food Bank and build out new specialized volunteer roles in more client-centric programs. Contact Sarah to line up volunteer opportunities or with any questions about volunteering and offering your skills to serve people experiencing hunger, homelessness, and poverty throughout Acadiana.
