Donations Support After Hurricane Francine Provides Real Help to Survivors and Strengthens Mutual Aid Relationships

The Emergency Aid Center in Franklin, LA reflects with gratitude on support received through Catholic Charities of Acadiana and their local supportive community after Francine.

The Emergency Aid Center is blessed to have a giving community and dedicated volunteers! Especially so when a storm, like Hurricane Francine, comes and our community is in need of our services more than ever. Thankfully, with the help and generosity of the City and fellow non-Profit Catholic Charities of Acadiana; who donated food and other needed items to help those affected by the storm.

Catholic Charities of Acadiana sent a truck load of goods to us that was able to keep the EAC Pantry well stocked despite the large number of people we serviced following the storm. They sent us food, personal and household cleaning products, school supplies and much more. It was a blessing and took time to unpack and add to our inventory.

The organizing and shelving of inventory for the EAC Pantry for the past year and a half has been handled by Mrs. Donna Boudreaux. She keeps everything organized and makes sure all donations are unpacked and shelved in a timely manner and we would simply be lost without her.

The Goods given to the EAC by the Catholic Charities of Acadiana including the Food and other items, as well as the addition of their Blessing Boxes amounted to around $10,200.00! It is thanks to these strong ties we have with both our community and fellow nonprofits and charity organizations, like Catholic Charities, that they are able to be such a valuable and charised resource for our community.

We hope to be able to continue to service them in their times of need as they help us help those who need it most. The EAC would also like to thank Catholic Charities of Acadiana for its continued support and years of partnership with hopefully many more to come!
