A Brief Note from the CEO
Dear supporters of Catholic Charities of Acadiana,
Because of your generosity, our dedicated staff continues to provide critical services for some of the most vulnerable in our community. Even today, we are providing warm meals and shelter for over 150 individuals who have no home of their own. For this, I am deeply grateful for your commitment to our mission that has allowed us to keep serving.
With nearly two decades of experience in responding to disasters, I am concerned the COVID-19 pandemic could threaten the stability of our organization as our entire community faces a difficult road to recovery. The demand for our services is rapidly and dramatically increasing while the financial resources to support our mission are becoming scarce.
We are already seeing an urgent need for food through FoodNet and St. Joseph Diner. We are also seeing many in need of financial assistance with rent, utilities, prescriptions and funerals through the Msgr. Sigur Center. Many of those who are finding themselves in need would have never imagined themselves in this position. We understand that asking for help is a humbling experience, and as facilitators of compassion, we want to be in a position to say βyes,β responding to our neighbors through this crisis. Now more than ever, what we do at Catholic Charities of Acadiana matters.
Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for supporting our work in the past and humbly ask for your ongoing support, if you are able, as we care for the sacred gift of all human life, especially the most vulnerable in the days, weeks and years to come.
Yours in Service,
Kim Boudreaux
