Do you feel called to help your suffering neighbor after disaster?
Join Catholic Charities Acadiana’s
Disaster Response
all year round!
Catholic Charities of Acadiana’s Disaster Response Department serves an 8-parish region. That’s a lot of people, y’all!
For those living under the burden of poverty, disaster severely amplifies the crisis. Even small storm damage to the home of someone struggling with poverty can cause a situation that is beyond an individual or family’s ability to recover. A disaster can result is a domino effect increasing suffering and hardship including living in a home that is dangerous to health or life, or even being forced into homelessness.
This is why disaster response is critical to the fulfillment of Catholic Charities of Acadiana’s mission “caring for the sacred gift of all human life, especially the most vulnerable.”
Our ability to act quickly to aid those in need of our help to recover is dependent on volunteers, and we’re so glad that you’re interested in joining your hands with ours!
Over 500 neighbors asked for our help.
75+ are still waiting for recovery.
Requests come in year round.
Will you be the difference?
