New Iberia Resident Receives Hope & Home After December Tornadoes in New Iberia

When the devastating tornadoes hit New Iberia this past December, homes were reduced to piles of rubbish. Catholic Charities of Acadiana’s Disaster Response jumped into action immediately.

One demolished home resulted in 161 days (nearly 5.5 months) of displacement for a particular client.

Catholic Charities of Acadiana’s Disaster Team partnered with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Love Acadiana, and the Acadiana Churches Disaster Network (ACDN) to help this client navigate the recovery process. This June, Catholic Charities of Acadiana helped her move into her new home on her original property!

This client is one of the few remaining to be accompanied through the recovery from that catastrophic storm.

Thank you to our supportive community who worked together to restore this home (along with many others) through both generous funding and volunteer labor!
