To reduce hunger in Lafayette Parish, we provide food to those in need, generate community support and create awareness. We do this through a viable process for the collection and distribution of food in an accountable and compassionate manner.

Provide food, reduce hunger, and support the Lafayette Parish community

Foodnet Food Bank of Lafayette, La, a non-profit food bank serving Lafayette Parish, was established in October 1987. The food distributed by FoodNet is donated by the community. There are three major food drives that channel food to FoodNet. These food drives are The Letter Carrier's hosted the second week in May, The Rotary Election Day Food Drive (hosted on major elections, the four Rotary Clubs of Lafayette collect donations for FoodNet at the polling places) and the KLFY News 10 FoodNet "Food for Families" Food Drive hosted in December annually. Numerous, schools, corporations, organizations, and individuals also hold independent food drives for FoodNet throughout the year.Marcelle Citron, Founder of FoodNet
